Position: High School Computer Science Teacher
Department: High School Division
Employment Type: Full-time, 12-month fixed-term position
Reporting Line: Reports directly to the SG and A-Level Programme Director, and indirectly to the Department Head
Job Purpose
To deliver high-quality Computer Science and ICT teaching across all high school programmes.
Teaching focuses on coding, computational thinking, data organization, algorithms, robotics, and emerging technologies.
To inspire students to develop problem-solving skills, digital literacy, and creativity, and prepare them for further studies in A-Level, AP Computer Science, or ICT-related pathways.
Key Responsibilities
Curriculum Delivery & Innovation: Teach Computer Science and ICT courses, design curricula aligned with international standards, and integrate educational technology into instruction.
Assessment & Student Progress: Develop assessment schemes to monitor student academic performance and provide timely feedback.
School Infrastructure & Collaboration: Support the use of digital tools in classrooms, collaborate with the IT and innovation teams, and advise on classroom technology requirements.
Student Welfare & Extracurricular Activities: Serve as a student mentor, lead or support extracurricular clubs such as programming and robotics, and participate in school events.
Professional Development & Research: Keep abreast of trends in educational technology and participate in professional development activities.
Other Duties: Undertake other relevant tasks assigned by the school.
Job Requirements
Education & Certifications: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or a related field; recognized teaching qualification. Certifications in ICT/CS pedagogy, ISTE, or CSTA standards are preferred.
Experience: 2–3 years of successful Computer Science teaching experience. Experience in international schools and familiarity with A-Level or AP curricula are preferred; background in programming, robotics, or AI integration is a strong plus.
Skills & Qualities: Solid subject knowledge, effective classroom management, cross-cultural communication skills, and flexibility to adapt to diverse student needs.
