Ocean Import Coordinator | Valley Stream, NY | Salary up to $65,000

This role is responsible for managing the end-to-end ocean import process, ensuring timely, compliant, and cost-effective movement of international shipments.

Key Responsibilities

• Coordinate and manage ocean import shipments from origin to final delivery
• Communicate with overseas agents, ocean carriers, customs brokers, and trucking companies
• Prepare and review import documentation (HBL/MBL, commercial invoices, packing lists, arrival notices, etc.)
• Ensure compliance with U.S. Customs regulations and company procedures
• Track shipments and provide real-time updates to customers
• Arrange customs clearance, drayage, and final delivery
• Handle billing, invoicing, and file profitability checks
• Resolve shipment issues, delays, or discrepancies efficiently
• Maintain accurate records in the company’s logistics systems

Qualifications

• 2+ years of experience in ocean import freight forwarding
• Strong understanding of international ocean shipping documentation and procedures
• Knowledge of U.S. Customs regulations and import compliance
• Experience working with ocean carrier systems and freight software (e.g., CargoWise preferred)
• Excellent communication and organizational skills
